This June, we celebrate the fact that it has been 10 years since CPH STAGE went on the air for the very first time. It requires a little extra confetti. We are therefore pleased to announce that we have teamed up with the Royal Danish Theatre to have a festival hub and present performances with them for the next few years. We cannot wait to get together and celebrate the big anniversary at the Royal Danish Playhouse!
We are also pleased to be able to share the news of two international performances that you have the opportunity to experience during the festival. We promise that it will be both colourful, unpredictable and touching!
CPH STAGE 2023 opens with one of the great stars of the international dance scene: Sasha Waltz. Her performance IN C becomes equally colorful and vibrant when it takes over the Royal Danish Playhouse. The performance is based on composer Terry Riley's iconic musical work of the same name, and on stage a Danish ensemble will accompany the dancers. The performance will play on the opening night of the festival on May 31 and June 1. Tickets can be purchased from Thursday February 2 with an early bird discount of DKK 40. Read more here.
In addition to Germany, we have also turned our eyes to South America and the performance of Argentine choreographer Marina Otero FUCK ME. In a wild mix of dance, audio and video, Marina Otero tells her harsh life story, danced by five men. The performance is presented in a collaboration between CPH STAGE, ILT Festivalen, TOASTER and REVOLVER. It plays on June 1 and 2 at REVOLVER, and tickets can be purchased from Thursday February 2 with an early bird discount of DKK 40. Read more about the performance here.
