The Royal Danish Library once again opens its doors to a special performance dedicated to love – and this time it presents a revival of the popular “Letter Performance: Love”.
The Royal Danish Library houses a collection of more than two million letters from prominent figures, artists, and writers. The performance is a tribute to the personal letter – a genre that is gradually disappearing from everyday life, yet one that holds a profound human intensity.
Actors David Dencik, Simon Kongsted, Gustav Giese, and Maria Rossing, among others, bring past lovers to life by interpreting letters from figures such as Søren Kierkegaard and Selma Lagerlöf.
These are intimate texts written for a single recipient – and precisely for that reason, they resonate so powerfully.
