“Babel Babel Babel” takes the audience on a musical journey through the complex nature of love, the everyday absurdities of life, war, nationalism and the longing for freedom. The cabaret revolves around the angel Babylon who, in a Babylonian mix of languages, tries to understand the world of men. With humor, irony and passion, we meet a fallen angel, a bewildered figure who speaks to himself, the heavens and the audience, and slowly draws us deeper into the nooks and crannies of love and life – with both ease and seriousness.
The performance is built around music and songs from the 1930s and 40s by P.H., Edith Piaf, Brecht, Weill and Holländer, among others. “Babel Babel Babel” is a reworking of “Babylon of the Night”.
