TALK: ON EMPATHY

CPH STAGE, NØRREBRO TEATER & FOF KØBENHAVN OG NORDSJÆLLAND
Danish
150 kr.

Description

Meet actor Trine Dyrholm and author Thomas Korsgaard in conversation about how they work with empathy and shifts in perspective through art. They will, among other things, discuss the process of bringing characters to life and creating a new, surprising, and deeper understanding of both the characters’ inner lives as well as questions of power, gender, class, and the relationship between urban and rural life. The conversation is moderated by journalist and author Gudrun Marie Schmidt.

ABOUT THE PARTICIPANTS

Trine Dyrholm is an actor and graduated from the Danish National School of Performing Arts in 1995. She has appeared in a wide range of theatre productions as well as film and television, including “Hævnen" (2010), “En Kongelig Affære" (2012), "Dronningen" (2019) and "Pigen med Nålen" (2024). Throughout her career, Trine Dyrholm has won numerous awards, including 11 Robert Awards, most recently for her performance in “Pigen med Nålen".

Thomas Korsgaard is an author who made his debut in 2017 with the novel “Hvis der skulle komme et menneske forbi". In addition, Thomas has written short stories, children’s books, and drama, and most recently the production “Sat i verden", which was staged at the Royal Danish Theatre in 2025.
