CPH STAGE's International Days is the festival's window to the international arena - presenting a professional industry programme with international and Danish guests, a showcase with Danish performances and 6-8 pitches by Danish companies and artists.
We invite Danish, Greenlandic and Faroese theatre companies to apply for the Pitch session and register their performances for showcase during CPH STAGE's International Days 26th-28th May 2025. The festival has different ways in which you can attend CPH STAGE’s International Days, get subsidy and promote your work.
- THE SHOWCASE is open and we invite all companies with an interest in international touring and collaborations around their work to register their performances. All registered performances will be part of the official showcase programme for the festival’s international guests attending The International Days during CPH STAGE 2025. Read more below.
- THE PITCHES are found through an open call and selected by an international jury. The jury changes every year in order to create a diversity in the perspectives on performing arts in Denmark. Read more below.
- TRANSPORT SUBSIDY is the festival's opportunity to support performances that are produced in Denmark and the theatre/company must reside outside the Capital Region or on Bornholm. The performances are selected based on an open call. Read further down the page.
The deadline for the festival's open calls and registration for the showcase is 17th November 2024.
The festival wants to make it easier for people to register for the festival and apply for our open calls, therefore you can, for example, in connection with registering for the showcase, apply for a pitch, the curated line and a transport contribution. To read more about the curated line click here.
The registration for the Fringe festival programme opens on 3rd December 2024. Read more here.
All registered performances will be part of the official showcase programme for the festival’s international guests attending The International Days during CPH STAGE 2025.
CPH STAGE will invite a few selected international professionals to highlight performances from the official showcase programme based on genres, themes etc. This will be a service which will guide our international guests through the programme. To become part of the showcase the company/artist must have a strategy for their international work.
The festival does not financially support the registered performances. By registering for the showcase, you will receive 2 tickets for The International Days, which, among others, include an introduction to an international network, workshops, performances and meals.
The festival will purchase the number of tickets that the international guests have booked. The company will decide themselves how many tickets they want to allocate to the festival’s international guests; between 20-60 tickets. The festival will release unbooked tickets 1 week prior to the start of The International Days.
Please be aware that all shows and companies performing during CPH STAGE will have to follow the current official agreements. Dansk Teater makes a special agreement with The Danish Actor's Association regarding CPH STAGE. Read the agreement from 2024 here.
As CPH STAGE receives support from the Ministry of Culture and The Copenhagen Municipality it is a condition for our support that our collaborators meet the demands from Copenhagen Municipality about labor clauses, that is expectations to salary and working conditions like working hours, residence- and work permits. See more about this (in Danish) HERE.
